This is primarily a portable construction dumpster rental business that also does some water and fire damage cleanups and other work. Portable dumpsters are primarily tow behind trailers that have been modified to be enclosed on all sides. There is a gate on the back that is opened for disposal. These portable dumpsters offer the homeowner the huge advantage of minimizing or eliminating the damage done to driveways and yards that may be caused by using the large, steel commercial roll-off type dumpsters. They are tarped when full and being towed to the landfill. The business is home based plus they rent a storage yard for the dumpsters and trucks. There are 10 dumpsters, and 2 Ford Super Duty trucks (1994 with approximate mileage of 180,000 and 1997 with approximate mileage of 150,000) which all are included in the sale. The dumpster sizes vary from small (6, 10 yards) which rent for $325 +/- to large (4, 20 yards) which rent for $425 +/- per job with the average rental costing $395. The dumpsters are on location for several days to one week per job. All of the dumpsters are on tires and are moved by trucks. There are also three trucks included in the sale. The seller does occasionally subcontract out for large roll-off boxes if needed by their customers.
The cost to dispose of the material averages $100 per dumpster. The seller has agreements with several landfills where the material is disposed. In 2017, approximately 450 loads were disposed. The part time employees are largely paid on a commission basis of $50 per delivery and pick up and disposal. They deliver the portable dumpsters and pick them up when full and deliver the debris to the landfills. The seller, who has full-time outside employment, handles most of the scheduling, but will do whatever is necessary. The contact telephone number is the seller’s cell phone. Arrangements must be made to establish a new number and communicate that new number to the customer base. Seller will assisted with this process for a considerable period after closing. Per seller, the profit margin after dump fees, payroll, insurance, truck and trailer repairs, etc. is 50%-60% of gross sales. The seller will prove to buyer with an acceptable offer.
There is a data base of 100-200 customers. Customers are construction companies (roofing, siding, windows, remodeling, etc.), insurance companies, disaster response companies (fire, water damage, etc.), and businesses or individuals who are moving or otherwise disposing of household debris. Note: Telephone number and PO box are now included in the sale.
